Recently, I talked with CPL|George discussing some matters of importance regarding the CPL situation with Day of Defeat. The brief interview covers the selection of CoD and some information regarding a DoD BYOC tournament at CPL Summer 2004.
UPDATE: Beach and Solid have been cut from Fx for cheating just hours before the finals. Beach was not on the starting lineup anyway, but Solid was, so Shaffer will take his place tonight.
Well once again we come to another CALi finals, and for the first time in CAL DoD history we have two relatively new invite teams making the finals. Shockwave DoD, formerly team Infamy, made CAL invite after winning the CAL M championship last season. They powered through the playoffs, dominating a respectable FZ team and then defeating back to back CALi champions vigilante elite in the semifinals. Fx, on the other hand, has made a complete turn around, from their pitiful previous season (record 4-12) to reaching the CALi finals this season, while maintaining almost the same roster throughout. They entered the playoffs as underdogs, but managed to take down top team UH in the first round, and immediately made the finals after xeno was unfortunately forced to forfeit. This should be an interesting match between two of the top North American teams in DoD 1.1.
