Cash Prize Pool
As of 3/16/2014, the current estimated cash prize pool is $4050.
1st Place – $2100 ($350 per player)
2nd Place – $1200 ($200 per player)
3rd Place – $750 ($125 per player)
The prize pool is contingent entirely on community donations. The more donations we receive, the higher the prize pool. Cash prizes will be delivered in full, in cash, at the conclusion of the tournament. Please keep in mind that this is a starting point, the final cash prize pool will likely be larger.
It’s also possible that we’ll get enough prizes to go around that will be able throw in hardware prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well, it just depends on how everything shakes out with donations and sponsors.
I’m also hoping to have small prizes for special awards, like tournament MVP, top fragger, low fragger (the 19-61 award), best monitor tan, etc. We’ll get creative.
Door Prizes
We’ve been lucky to procure quite a few small prizes for random giveaways from our sponsors. These items range from posters, stickers, and tshirts, to usb thumb drives and accessories. These prizes will be stuffed into your swag bags at random, and you’ll receive them as you check-in at the LAN on Friday, August 1st.
Raffle Prizes
In addition to random door prizes, each player badge will have two random raffle numbers on it. We’ll raffle off these prizes at various times throughout the event, like during intermissions between rounds. Anyone in attendance of the LAN will be eligible, even if you aren’t physically present at the LAN center when the raffle is drawn. These prizes are of greater value than door prizes, and may include keyboards/mice or other hardware items from our sponsors.
Raffle prizes will be limited to 1 per attendee.
As of March 1st, you’d have a 50% chance of winning some kind of prize at the LAN. This number will likely increase as we acquire more prizes from our sponsors leading up to the LAN.
